Purpose

To assist with monitoring safe production to ensure that the utmost quality standards are achieved and shipping schedules against acknowledged dates are met. It is expected that the Operator shall help to facilitate continuous improvement in Manufacturing towards World Class standards, thereby delivering increased Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Best in Class Quality performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that safe working practices are always adhered to, including wearing PPE as appropriate. Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation.
• Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote site safety.
• Actively support Team Leaders to embed Continuous Improvement tools in daily manufacturing practice.
• Maximize productivity through efficient machine set-ups and minimising machine downtime by assisting crews with roll changes, break cover, batch close out, etc.
• Assist on-the-job training so that employees can be up-skilled to operate breather bag equipment in line with specified quality & standard operating procedures.
• Promptly identify any problems which arise which may interfere with production schedules and escalate to Team Leader/Shift Performance Manager.
• Assist with cost reduction, waste reduction and operational improvement through the use of quality tools and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Assist in the monitoring of accuracy of performance and process data such as production standards, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Waste, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Will include participating in special projects as identified.

Requirements

Education:

• Academic qualification in Math & English
• Computer literate

Specific Training:

• Full certified on at least two Breather Bag machines

Experience:

• Two years manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of production, quality, and Hygiene systems
• No live disciplinary record

Competencies

• Ability to work indepently and collaboratively with limited supervision
• Proven analytical thinking, results orientation and problem-solving skills
