Title: Snr. Manager, European Lab Services

Purpose

The Sr Manager, European Lab Service advances the capability of Nelipak Laboratory Services through customer relationship management and business development, networking with outside laboratories, method development and documentation, purchase of new lab instrumentation and daily laboratory schedule organization.

Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management: •        Reviews and approves testing reports/plans done by lab technicians and engineers •        Organizes day to day planning of laboratory work, scheduling of customer projects in advance. •        Identifies gaps in lab capability •        Mentors’ junior laboratory technicians •        Identifies training needs and provide on-going performance feedback to department Manager •        Leads the team in managing resourcing, performance management etc •        Recognizes and drive business development opportunities Technical Responsibilities: •        Provides analytical support for manufacturing to resolve claims or production issues •        Independently develops testing protocols, applying known methods/techniques to solve problems •        Chemical and polymer analysis to understand raw materials and competitive products •        Improves methods and method repeatability through statistical analysis •        Assist with writing and review of quality documentation Client & Business Development: •        Arranges and undertakes client visits •        Creates quotations for customers based on their requests •        Assists marketing dept. in preparing marketing for laboratory •        Attends trade shows to and strategically showcases the lab services •        Understands limitations of instruments & methods – works with lab customers to understand capability to meet customer need and level of precision required Continuous Improvement: •        Works with product development teams in the analysis and development of new products •        Advance the capability of the labs – document proposals (scope, plan, cost, relevance) •        Evaluation and purchase of new labs instrumentation •        Method development (literature review, research & statistical validation)

Education and or Experience:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, or related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong Management skills (Leadership, communication, problem Solving, Planning, Employee development and decision making) across multi-sites
• Experience with ISO 17025 accreditation testing and systems
• Proficient with statistical tools such as Gage R&R
• Knowledge of polymer materials, processing and packaging terminology
• SAP system knowledge and experience is an advantage

• SAP Experience is an advantage.

• Ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts from corporate to manufacturing employees – both oral and written.
• Drives a high performing culture and Continuous Improvement.

• Excellent Communicator, who is customer, orientated.

Working Conditions

Based in Clara, Co. Offaly, with travel to Venray each month.
