HR Officer, Elsham

Working closely with the Operations Director and Leadership Team you will provide a full range of operational HR support and service through the whole employee life cycle to our UK site based in Elsham, North Lincolnshire in order to support the achievement of the business strategy. This a stand-alone role providing a full range of HR support services to a single site, with support from a HR team based in Northern Ireland. The role will also involve working with a global HR team in implementing global projects and people initiatives.

In this role you are responsible for:

▪ In partnership with site-based managers provide a full range of HR support & service through the whole employee life cycle to employees and
managers based at Elsham.
▪ Guide, support and coach line mangers in effective people management, including application of relevant Nelipak people policies and procedures.
▪ Manage recruitment, selection and resourcing activity ensuring processes are effective and professional. Guide hiring managers on effective interviewing and selection practices.
▪ Support the implementation of regional and global HR improvement projects including ensuring global approaches to performance
management and Talent management are applied locally.
▪ Manage HR administrative support, including effective management of payroll enquiries and time and attendance processing.
▪ Work closely with site leaders in managing change ensuring the business is able to adapt to market & operational changes whilst maintaining
positive employee relations
▪ Support managers on employee relations issues including restructures, changes in policies and working practices and guiding managers on the
effective application of absence management, disciplinary, grievance issues etc.
▪ Oversee learning and development at the site including delivery of training on people related topics to support line management and enhance their capability in people management.
▪ Manage provision of employee benefits and pay review processes in respect of site-based employees. Ensure global compensation principles are applied locally.
▪ Support site leaders in enhancing employee engagement and building a positive employee experience to help retain and develop employees.
▪ Manage employee recognition and long service awards
▪ Maintain a good working knowledge of HR policies & procedures, employment law & modern HR practices
▪ Co-ordinate and implement employee health and wellbeing programmes.
▪ Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to, actively contributing to Nelipak initiatives to promote safe behaviour and working practices.
▪ Participate actively in regional and global HR team meetings
▪ Performs other tasks as assigned, including participating in projects where appropriate.

What we want from you:

▪ Have obtained, or currently studying a recognised HR qualification to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
▪ Minimum of two years current experience working within a generalist Human Resources role supporting line management across a broad range of HR activities.
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication
▪ Comfortable with working in a predominantly operational HR role, willing to “get hands dirty” whilst contributing to strategic initiatives.
▪ Experience in a manufacturing or related environment preferable
▪ Experience in supporting a site in a stand-alone role useful but not essential, must be able to adapt to it and work effectively with minimal support.

▪ Experience using Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, excel
