Job Purpose:

The role of the Trainee Planner Buyer is to ensure the accurate execution of the production schedule in order to meet customer requirements and be responsible for managing external supplier relationships, liaising between suppliers, logistic companies and internal departments to ensure efficient co-ordination of the purchase order process using our SAP system.

Duties during and after training:

  • Ensure correct materials are available for release to production on daily basis in order to ensure on time complete to customer and eliminate production downtime.
  • Issue a daily production schedule and check material availability against schedule.
  • Release production orders and review production schedules with manufacturing management.
  • Issue acknowledgement dates to customer service personnel for customer orders.
  • Issue weekly capacity reports, detailing lead-times to all relevant staff and advising the manufacturing management of extra shifts and overtime required to meet customer demand.
  • Communicate all schedule changes to production and material handlers to ensure correct flow of material.

Essential criteria:

  • GCSE Mathematics & GCSE English.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision.
  • Proven analytical thinking, results orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously with high attention to details and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts from corporate to manufacturing employees – both oral and written.

• SAP and MRP training will be provided by Nelipak.
