Transactional Manager (12 month Temp Maternity Contract)

This position is within the Nelipak finance team, based from the Derry site.
This position oversees the AR, AP and Trade Compliance functions. The Transactional Manager will be responsible for overseeing the performance management of the team. In addition, the lead must proactively pursue process improvements and standardization. This leader will be expected to promote and participate in an environment of strong internal control, while providing leadership and support to other departments.

In this role you are responsible for:
Performing tasks such as:

• Provide leadership and guidance to the AP and AR team leads
• Oversee the month end processes for the AR and AP departments
• Review month end reports for both departments
• Preparation and submission of VAT and intrastat returns, and ensure VAT compliance across the group
• Preparation and submission of Plastic Packaging Tax returns
• Manage bank mandates
• Cashflow Forecasts & Treasury Management
• Lead Trade Compliance function, with one direct report
• Develop understanding of the companies trade compliance processes
• Manage the companies import/export brokers
• Ensure adequate compliance documentation retention
• Facilitate sanctioned party & embargo screening
• Manage / Oversee Customer, Vendor and Trade Compliance Master Data
• Build relationship with external Trade Compliance support bodies, and seek external advice where necessary to support business transactions
• Develop close relationships with business units
• Respond to business unit and supplier queries in a prompt and professional manner, working with the business unit accounting teams to resolve open issues
• Play a key role in AR, AP, customer/supplier master data and trade compliance activity around SAP implementations
• Help develop and maintain adequate SOX controls
• Performance management
• Perform other duties as assigned. Will include support of special projects as identified

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified or Part Qualified with a recognised accountancy body
• Experience of working in a similar leadership role in a fast paced and high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
• Strong organizational skills in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously with high attention to details and a high level
of accuracy

Desirable Criteria:

• SAP experience
• Trade Compliance experience or qualification
• Experience in implementation of an ERP system
• Demonstrated team leadership with the ability to lead the achievement of results
