Our Five Sustainability Principles
Nelipak recognizes that we participate in truly global value chain. Our commitment is to ensure the highest quality of packaging that protects the integrity and sterility of healthcare products. We actively work to improve the sustainability of our products & processes to deliver our vision to “Help Healthcare Be Sustainable”.
Nelipak concentrates on five principal areas, called our Sustainability Circle. Our greatest impact is in the advancement of these areas, shaping our manufacturing improvements and guiding our design. This is applied how we work together and with the community – including how our suppliers do business with us.

Emissions
We actively aim to reduce scope 1&2 Green House Gas emissions by using less energy and increased renewables to deliver on our 2030 reduction targets.
We will reduce water consumption and lower waste through process efficiency, investment and recycling.
Circularity
Our development engineers apply design for sustainability to:
- Optimize form-factors for materials use and transport efficiency.
- Use easier to recycle materials and structures.
- Introduce recycled material solutions.
- Optimize non-product transit packaging.
Risk & Resilience
We complete specific risk assessments and supplier surveying as required.

Nelipak Awarded Silver Medal Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis Silver Medal for Second Consecutive Year.
Scoring strongly across all aspects of sustainability, this demonstrates Nelipak’s commitment to ongoing sustainability and alignment with the requirements for responsible participation in healthcare.
ISCC+
To enable the use of advanced recycled and bio-derived polymers, three Nelipak sites have been awarded ISCC+ certification for supply chain traceability. This ensures GHG reduction benefits can be achieved. Chain of custody ensures the greenhouse gas reduction achieved in materials manufactured. Conversion can be passed to medical device manufacturers and healthcare providers.
CDP
Carbon footprint reduction is key at company and product levels. We participate in the CDP in 2024, demonstrating commitment to reducing greenhouse gas and contributing to the Net-Zero targets in healthcare.

Nelipak and our employees follows an agreed sustainability strategy, with progress reported quarterly to the board of directors. Our employees commit through our policies & Nelipak’s Code of Conduct, which act as our moral compass and anchor to ethical business practices.
Policies
We maintain both a sustainability policy and a sustainable procurement policy. These define our expectations both internally and throughout our supply chain.
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct outlines expectations to each other, to our stakeholders and society. Our whistleblower hotline, open to all employees, helps us live the values included in the code. We extend the same expectations to our suppliers through our supplier code of conduct.
Board Oversight
Our board maintains a regular cadence of oversight and involvement. The sustainability plan is reviewed annually, with topic specific updates through the year.
